About the book

Visitors to New York City hop on the Staten Island Ferry to get priceless views of the Statue of Liberty. Then they go right back to Manhattan, missing New York's Forgotten Borough, or as Mark Fleischmann calls it, New York's Secret Borough. But what would happen if they got off the boat and onto the train? Fleischmann found out by planning walks and meals around 21 Staten Island Railway stations. He came, he saw, he ate, he took lots of pictures, and he turned the results into a series of freewheeling, richly illustrated blogs, now collected in one place for offline reading.
